Warner/Chappell UK appoints new Finance Director

Warner Music’s music publishing business in the UK, so that’ll be Warner/Chappell Music UK, has appointed Kate Alderton as its new Finance Director. Having previously worked for accountancy firm Deloitte, Alderton joined Warner/Chappell in 2012, originally as Financial Controller, subsequently rising to Head Of Finance.
Confirming the latest promotion, the MD of Warner/Chappell UK Mike Smith said these exact words in more or less this order: “This is a thoroughly well-deserved promotion for Kate. She has a brilliant understanding of the changes the business is going through. Her good humour, hard work and creativity are invaluable when it comes to delivering the best possible solutions for our songwriters”.
Alderton herself added: “Warner/Chappell Music is committed to ensuring that our songwriters are paid swiftly and accurately, especially at a time of such unprecedented change across the industry. It’s a genuine privilege to work alongside Mike Smith and the extremely talented Warner/Chappell UK team, and I look forward to helping further develop our ability to service Britain’s incredible songwriter community”.
