BPI pays tribute to music industry events producer Fiona Haycock
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 5 September 2016
Record industry trade group BPI were amongst those paying tribute to Fiona Haycock, who worked on a wide range of music industry events, following her death last week.
Haycock led PR and event projects for the record industry organisation in the late 1990s. She subsequently worked on initiatives like the Music Industry Trusts Award and the Silver Clef Awards, as well as the radio industry’s Sony Awards and the MOBOs.
Between 2009 and 2014 she headed up events for collecting society PPL, and immediately prior to her death from cancer she was working on this year’s MITS event, which takes place on 7 Nov.
Paying tribute on Twitter, the BPI said: “BPI is profoundly saddened by the passing of Fiona Haycock, who made an immeasurable contribution to our industry and will be greatly missed”.
